welcome! i am eli [ 30, she/her, gmt-4 ], self-proclaimed ceo of eren jaeger. i've written in the aot rpc on/off since 2013 as erwin smith, and brainrot has inspired me to return after almost a decade away as my beloved eren. i have a lot of love for this character (i literally have him tattooed on my body, lol) but i intend to explore him in all of his complexities, including his laundry list of flaws, because that's part of what makes him compelling and precious to me. thank you for your interest in writing together! let's have lots of fun. β‘

across verses, eren is pretty consistently insane, toxic, and extreme in a lot of his behaviors. while i tend to portray him sympathetically, this does not mean i condone, agree with, or personally align myself with his more problematic behaviors and opinions. he is a fictional vessel to explore complex and difficult themes.

eren and mikasa are adoptive siblings from my perspective. i will not romanticize or sexualize their relationship regardless of canonical implications. as far as my portrayal goes, eren views her as family. this is a hard line for me and is non-negotiable.

given that levi met eren when he was a fifteen year old child, i am not interested in construing their relationship as romantic or sexual, even after eren becomes an adult. rather, i see levi as a parental figure to eren, specifically somewhat maternal despite gender dynamics.

let it be known that i am extremely biased toward erejean / jeanere, to the extent that it is basically canon in my brain. that being said, i will never try to force ship or autoship with anyone, even if i tend to write eren as being at least somewhat in love with jean without fully realizing it. this does not mean i am trying to force a ship; you are never "required" to ship with me regardless of how my muse feels. however, if our muses have chemistry and you are interested, i am certainly open to discussing a potential ship! β‘

for now, this is a multishipping portrayal. however, i am not interested in having a lot of ships ... as fun as shipping is, it can be a lot for me to keep up with. i prefer to have just a couple of ships that i can really focus on and develop. but if the chemistry is there and we both are interested, i won't ever say no. so please don't be afraid to ask! i currently don't have any limits as far as shipping with multiples of the same character, but this may change in the future. for transparency's sake, i do have shipping biases toward erejean and fleren, but all ships are to be based on chemistry and writer interest.

eren can be incredibly abrasive, stubborn, and even violent. i understand that he may make enemies, and i welcome it! those dynamics can be very intriguing and fun to write if we're on the same page. i just ask that if things ever become particularly violent, we plot it out carefully so i am not blindsided by it. for me, fights are only fun to write if we agree on the outcome beforehand.

i label this portrayal as "canon divergent in the sense that i like to put my own spin on eren's character and lore and spend a lot of time crafting something cohesive, intriguing, and narratively sound without worrying too much about what's "canon." however, it is also important to me to preserve the spirit of eren's character and what makes me love him so much, so i do not tend to stray too far. any major changes i make will be noted in headcanon and/or metadata posts.

a beautiful boy enters the world bearing his mother's love and his father's hope, unknowingly destined to end the cruel reality he shall soon come to know. despite his somewhat average childhood, eren's worldview crumbles upon his witnessing his beloved mother being eaten alive at just nine years old, serving as the catalyst for his vitriolic hatred of the maneating monsters terrorizing what he's been told is all that remains of humanity. thus, as soon as he comes of age, he vows to join the military division known as the scouting legion so that he can slaughter every last titan that crosses his path, emboldened by his lofty aspirations of killing them all one day. soon after he begins military training, eren excels on account of his sheer, unbreakable ambition, but the titans prove to be a formidable foe, and he nearly dies after encountering them upon a second horrific destruction of the walls. however, it is through this near-death experience that eren becomes aware of an unthinkable truth; he is able to transform into a titan at will, an ability that the world he knows has never before seen. initially, he is construed as an unpredictable abomination and is set to be executed and dissected at once, but the silver-tongued higher-ups of the scouting legion manage to convince the powers that be that eren's titan powers, if mastered and carefully controlled, can be used as an asset to finally bring the titans' reign of terror to an end. promptly, eren becomes the scouting legion's most powerful weapon, and willingly dedicates himself to the cause, as it aligns with his determination to see the titans exterminated. along the way, he learns how to better control his powers and hones his many abilities, discovering more about himself and what he can do with every transformation. along the way, he receives a rude awakening in realizing that three of the comrades he'd trained alongside are actually just like him, and had used their titan powers to compromise the walls and orchestrate the horrific events that led to his mother's death, as well as the deaths of countless others, all in the name of a mission from their motherland to wipe out the people of the island called paradis. from that point forward, eren questions everything he had ever known ββββ about the world, about the titans, about himself ββββ and his hatred grows beyond titans and into something far darker ... an unquenchable thirst for vengeance, and an unending desire to kill all of his enemies before they kill him, and all of those who share his homeland, first. after learning that his father had passed the power of ymir fritz's founding titan to him, eren uses its world-altering abilities, as well as the time-bending capabilities of his own attack titan, to plot his revenge and destroy the curse of the titans once and for all. he becomes the fearless leader and mastermind behind the jaegerists; a rogue military organization born of a shared ambition to save their homeland from the impending atrocities to be committed against it by the rest of the world. with the unwitting help of his half-brother, who is descended from the fritz bloodline, eren activates the rumbling, an apocalyptic horror wherein innumerable colossus titans emerge from the walls and trample all human life outside of paradis. it is this, combined with the resolve of his friends and loved ones to bring the nightmare to an end by any means necessary, that finally frees paradis and the rest of the world from the terrors of the titans ββββ though, tragically, and as eren had known from the moment the visions began, the true key to the titans' extinction is for the holder of the founder's power to die. in the end, his sacrifice makes way for a peace set to last at least a century. but only time will tell if the cycle has truly ended, or will start anew as humanity circles back to what it always seems to know best: cruelty.

after his parents' messy divorce, eren moves to the united states from a small village in germany at just nine years old. he and his mother have challenges settling in, but work to establish a comfortable life ββββ at least until she's killed in a tragic accident, and eren is left to fend for himself at fifteen. his grief and status as a 'troubled youth' is only exacerbated when he suddenly begins having nightmarish visions of a past he's never known, but that somehow feels freakishly familiar ββββ a past where he'd essentially ended the world after becoming all of humanity's public enemy number one. regardless, eren attempts to move forward and pursue an outlet for all of his pain and anger, eventually becoming the world-famous frontman for the heavy metal band, the jaegerists. but his chaotic instability and tendency to be haunted by his past, as well as the never-ending visions of a version of himself from an entirely different world, render his life anything but simple.β±γ 004. γ timeβs arrow merely marches forward. after a turbulent childhood comes to a breaking point with the death of his mother (note: background is nearly identical to that of the end of beginning verse), eren unlocks an ability that had not been prior known to him: he can see the future. at first, he struggles to understand and interpret his visions, but with time, he hones this ability to near-perfection, including the ability to see specific events at specific points in time. this leads him only to discover the purpose of this so-called gift that often feels more like a curse, and what he ought to do with it.
